2022 Patriots of the Year

Wendy Weller & Andrew Trapani receive the Patriot of the Year Award from Hon. Jackie Speier.

Wendy and Andrew participated in over 148 Final Honors funerals for veterans and volunteered about 1200 hours of service. They provided escort to veterans to their final resting place. A burial flag is ceremonially folded and presented to family. Wendy and Andrew, thank you for your service to these veterans and their families.

Sept. 27, 2022

Carol R. delivered "Troop" boxes containing snacks, toiletries, small games, and masks to Building 331 at MP-VA. The boxes were accepted by Irene and Rishoo, Recreation Therapists.

The boxes were given to us by Colonel Leo McArdle, United States Volunteers, so we could donate them to our Veterans. 

Sept. 2, 2022

Post 105 Family collected $2,120 for Ukrainian relief. A Red Cross representative received the check and said the Red Cross plans to be in Ukraine for "the long haul" to give aid.

August 27, 2022

Fisher House is a comfort home at the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital where families of veterans stay while their loved ones receive treatment.

ALA 105 and ALR 105 participated  at the annual fundraiser for Fisher House.

No in-person BBQ lunch allowed this year because of Covid-19 restrictions. Nevertheless, lunch is served!

ALR Chapter 105 prepare to ride 22 miles to the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital to raise funds for the hospital's Suicide Prevention program.

Meanwhile, Post 105 and Unit 105 members prepare a bbq lunch for the Riders.

Auxiliary members Arlene M. and Carol R. met with Rishoo to present a check to the Menlo Park Veterans Hospital.

The money will provide a 4th of July lunch for the residents of Building 331. Rishoo said the veterans appreciate the donation. Everyone looks forward to the day when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted and  Auxiliary members can once again come in person and provide the lunch for the residents.

The flag flies at half-mast today. Commander Romie Bassetto entered Post Everlasting this morning, April 14, 2022.  Commander Bassetto gave his heart and soul to the American Legion Post 105 Redwood City.  His devotion and dedication will be greatly missed.

Unit 105 preparing envelopes for our May Poppy Drive, the biggest fundraiser of the year. All funds received go to veterans' needs. Friends from Xi Pi Delta and ALR joined us to prepare 350 letters to send out.

15,000 bags of rice for families in need.

Post 105 Legionnaires, Auxiliary, and Riders supported Bay Area Global Outreach Lions Club (BAGOLC) who sponsored the event. Rise Against Hunger, Skylawn, San Mateo Lions, and Xi Pi Delta sorority, and friends all participated.

Members of the Post collected monetary donations to present to the Tonga Consul General, the Honorable Sela Tukia.

A U.N. official says 80% of Tonga's 105,000 people were affected by the undersea volcanic eruption and ensuring tsunami that lashed the Pacific island nation on Jan. 15, 2022.

Coffee Drive for Menlo Park Veterans Hospital

Unit 105 member C. Bagley organized a coffee drive at Elks Lodge #1991 Redwood City. The Elks Club generously supported Unit 105's coffee drive for the Menlo Park Veterans Hospital, collecting 23 lbs. of coffee.
