July 4 Catered Lunch
Irene's letter:
Thank you so much for the catered luncheon for the Veterans of VA Menlo Park CLC (331) on July 4, 2023.
Your kind donation went into preparation of a BBQ luncheon, desserts, and drinks for the Veterans.
The past 3 years with the corona virus made it hard for many of them, not being able to enjoy catered meals and this luncheon did not disappoint. Our Veterans had smiles on their faces when they received their lunch that afternoon. Thank you to everyone at your lodge who made this possible.

"My mom found this yesterday. I was so painfully shy but was bribed with a new dress to pin this poppy on this gentleman. Over 65 years ago!"

"In Flanders Fields the poppies blow..."
This wartime poem was written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, M.D. while serving on the front lines.
Since 1920 the poppy has been the official flower of The American Legion Family. Poppies memorialize the soldiers who fought and died during WWI.
Each year members of The American Legion Family distribute poppies with a request that the person receiving the flower make a donation to support the future of veterans, active-duty military personnel and their families with medical and financial needs.
Every donation is greatly appreciated.
